Spiritual leader to celebrate his 80th birthday teaching on compassion

The energetic and influential spiritual leader has released an official statement saying he will love to celebrate his birthday by spending time to teach his followers on the need to have compassion on others. He will start his lecture series at the Honda center on July 5th ,while his birthday is the next day- July 6th.


           He will also spend some days teaching on global peace at the university of California, Irvine. The charismatic spiritual leader has been a consistent voice in the fight for peaceful and compassionate co-existence of people around the world.

In an official statement released to Huffington post, the dalai lama shed more light on why he chose compassion as the theme of his lecture topic stating that compassion is the key to ending suffering. He further reiterated that compassion is the solution to war, famine, hunger and poverty, and stressed the need for individuals to be compassionate towards each other.
