Buhari Visits Shagari In Sokoto

Shagari welcomes Buhari to his residence while Governor Magartakarda watches
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has paid a visit to former president, Alhaji Shehu Shagari.


Buhari who was not in the country during the recent 9oth birthday celebration of Alhaji Shagari flew to Sokoto to felicitate with Shagari on the attainment of his 90th birthday.

Buhari who overthrew Shagari during his civilian regime in a military coup on December 31, 1983 has since been on good terms with the Sokoto-born former president.

The APC presidential candidate who was escorted to Shagari’s residence by the Governor  of the State, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, was full of smiles throughout the meeting.

It will be recalled that Buhari came back into the country recently after spending two weeks in Britain and speaking at Chatham house in the country.
Meanwhile, the umbrella body of the Igbo nation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo (Lagos state chapter),  has denied the news reports that surfaced in the media recently, that they endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd).
